Chicago Repertory Ballet is Chicago’s contemporary ballet company specializing in new and locally created dance works. With a distinctive voice in contemporary ballet, CRB produces dance works that push the boundaries of contemporary ballet as a genre to make dance that defies labels.
Chicago Repertory Ballet’s BalletNOW! program is an exciting mixed repertoire program which will feature exciting revivals of favorite CRB dances. This program will include the return of Wade Schaaf’s 2023 ballet “Interconnect” featuring an original score by Matty Mattsson. First created in 2011, “Dancer, Net(3)” is Wade Schaaf’s witty contemporary take on “The Dying Swan”. BalletNOW! will also welcome the return of Schaaf’s newest ballet “Lúa Descolorida” which features two vignettes under the shining moon. Also on the program “Huit Suite” and the exciting return of CRB’s disco ballet “Move on Up!”
