DESCRIPTION:The Mountaintop \nJanuary 2026\nOPENING: Thursday\, January 15th @ 7:30pm  \nFriday\, January 16th @ 7:30pm \nSaturday\, January 17th @ 3:00pm \nSunday\, January 18th @ 3:00pm \n$50 – Non-members  \n$45 – Members  \nInspired by MLK’s famous speech\, “I’ve Been to the Mountaintop\,” Katori Hall’s 2009 drama is set in Dr. King’s motel room the night before he is assassinated. He forms a friendship with his mysterious hotel maid\, Camae\, who helps him come to terms with the end of his life and the continuation of his legacy.  \nKatori Hall received the Olivier Award for Best New Play for The Mountaintop in 2009\, making her the first black woman to win the award. After its initial productions in London\, the play premiered on Broadway in 2011. Since then\, it has been produced at theatres around the world\, most notably making its Chicago premiere at The Court Theatre in 2013 \n  \nPURCHASE TICKETS HERE

If you have a song\, a skit\, or an artistic innovation that relates to the theme of freedom\, please submit information about your idea below. \n\nIf you want to submit an idea\, but need inspiration\, please visit the national Fall of Freedom website for ideas.\n\nWe will consider all submissions. We may not have enough time for all submitted acts to perform at the show. However\, if your submission is not selected for our 1/19/25 show\, we will keep your submission on file for a future variety show.\n\nTickets Here!
