SUMMARY:The Diary of Anne Frank
DESCRIPTION:The Diary of Anne Frank\n by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett\, newly adapted by Wendy Kesselman \nApril 4 – 14\, 2024  \nIn this transcendently powerful new adaptation by American playwright Wendy Kesselman\, Anne Frank emerges from the pages of history with words that strike at the very heart of human hope. Kesselman’s adaptation incorporates newly discovered writings from Annes’ diary\, as well as survivor accounts\, interwoven to create a contemporary impassioned story that captures the claustrophobic realities of  the lives of the people persecuted under Nazi rule —their fears\, their laughter\, their grief\, and their hope. \nPURCHASE TICKETS HERE

SUMMARY:Marrakesh Express ~ a Crosby\, Stills\, Nash & Young experience
DESCRIPTION:Marrakesh Express ~ a Crosby\, Stills\, Nash & Young experience\nSaturday\, April 13th\, 2024 – 8:00pm\nCost: $30 \nA band dedicated to tributing CSNY is unheard of due to the difficulty in replicating the 3- and 4-part vocal harmonies that made the group international superstars. Marrakesh Express excels at reproducing their complex songs and cascading\, layered harmonies. The band takes the audience back to the late 1960s with musicians who bring an authentic hippie vibe and visual to the stage. For a time\, CSNY was arguably the biggest band in the world after the demise of the Beatles and is one of the most enduring and influential musical groups of all time. The band\, born in the turbulent years of the late 1960s\, released hit after hit that spoke directly for their generation. Their songs remain in heavy rotation on classic rock radio stations to this day. Marrakesh Express upholds the integrity of that music with its vivid and realistic performance of CSNY’s most recognizable songs. Featuring four harmonizing vocalists backed by a top-flight band\, they deliver a unique and energetic concert performing the classic acoustic and electric CSNY hits\, deep cuts\, and fan favorites. Marrakesh Express has played to tens of thousands of appreciative fans at music festivals\, theaters\, fairs\, performing arts centers\, and casinos\, including headlining the Woodstock 40th Anniversary Tribute Concert. The music of CSNY has stood the test of time\, and fans of the classic rockers\, as well as young people who are curious about “the 60s\,” are anxious to venture out to hear it represented live. \nPURCHASE TICKETS HERE

SUMMARY:A Rock ‘n’ Roll Tribute—From Elvis to the Beatles—Featuring The Neverly Brothers
DESCRIPTION:A Rock ‘n’ Roll Tribute—From Elvis to the Beatles—Featuring The Neverly Brothers\n20th ANNIVERSARY TOUR\nSaturday\, May 4\, 7:30 PM\nCost: $32 \nThe Neverly Brothers take you on a guided musical tour of the birth\, near death and resurrection of rock ‘n’ roll from 1955 to 1965. You’ll learn rock history and be thoroughly entertained with their chronological song sequence\, stories behind the music and vintage wardrobe changes. Their energetic stage show consists of show-stopping renditions of early hits by Jerry Lee Lewis\, Chuck Berry\, Buddy Holly\, The Beatles\, Rolling Stones\, and more! \nThe first half of the concert pays tribute to the music created by the 1950s American Rock ‘n’ Roll pioneers—which by 1960 had become a distant memory but became the inspiration for the next wave of young rock bands from Britain. The second half focuses on the 1964 British Invasion. These are the bands that re-recorded the forgotten 1950s American rock music\, along with lesser known early 1960s rhythm & blues songs; recorded their own original songs; and pulled Rock ‘n’ Roll from the edge of extinction by re-inventing and re-energizing it for a new generation. \nEnjoy spirited performances of classics like Great Balls of Fire\, Johnny B. Goode\, Wake Up Little Susie\, Summertime Blues\, That’ll Be the Day\, Twist & Shout\, Roll Over Beethoven\, Satisfaction\, You Really Got Me\, Love Potion #9\, and many more! \nIt‘s not “moldy oldies”—it’s “old-school cool!” So hop aboard our virtual tour bus and fasten your seatbelts for an exciting MAGICAL HISTORY TOUR! \nPURCHASE TICKETS HERE

SUMMARY:The Mad Dogs & Englishmen Tour Tribute
DESCRIPTION:The Mad Dogs & Englishmen Tour Tribute\nShow date: October 11th\, 2024\nTime: 7:30pm\nTicket Price: Non-member $32\, Member $29 \nJoe Cocker was his generations greatest interpreters of songs. Not a single Rock\, Blues\, Pop\, or Soul song was written that he couldn’t make his own. Ask the Beatles or Elton John. After he stole the show at Woodstock he was on a red hot streak\, to be followed by the MAD DOGS & ENGLISHMEN TOUR. \nLeon Russell spent the 60’s as a young pianist and then a songwriter\, producer for the L.A. legendary studio Wrecking Crew. Then putting on another hat he became the Space Captain and to lead the MAD DOGS & ENGLISHMEN TOUR. \nIt made them both Legends \nThey shared genre-busting careers spanning over five decades from Rock and Soul\, to Ballads and Contemporary Classics. This show chronicles Joe’s breakout performances at Woodstock & The Mad Dogs and Englishmen Tour and reaches further to present Leon Russell’s diverse songwriting career. \nDerrick Procell brings his amazing voice to the task of channeling the same raw power and grit that made Joe Cocker such a diverse artist.\nBrother John Kattke’s background\, deeply entrenched in Blues and Soul\, reveals a bit of the Oklahomans country side from within\, covering Leon Russell’s most distinguished popular songs and performances during and after that unforgettable tour. \nTickets can be purchased here.

SUMMARY:Free Vision Screening (From Ages 6 Months to 6 Years)
DESCRIPTION:V.O.I.C.E.S\nSaving Kids Sight\nVision Screening \nThe Beverly Arts Center is hosting a free preschool vision screening sponsored by the Beverly Ridge Lions Club.  \nNovember 15th & 22nd\, 11am-2pm \nWHY is vision screening important?\nThe first few years of a child’s life are critical in the development of good vision. Children should have\ntheir vision checked for issues such as misaligned eyes\, and problems that need correction with\neyeglasses. These problems are not always evident by simply looking at a child. Young children often\ncompensate for vision problems so well that parents\, teachers\, and pediatricians are unaware of a\nproblem. Many common vision robbing conditions such as “lazy eye” can be effectively treated if\ndetected in a child’s formative years. \nSaving Kids Sight\, a VOICES community service program provides a simple\, noninvasive and cost- free vision screening test performed on young children. It requires no medication or preparation and is PAINLESS. It is as simple as taking a picture. It does require parental permission. \nSaving Kids Sight screens for the following: \nHyperopia – “Far-sightedness” is the difficulty seeing objects that are near. Untreated this can\ncontribute to “crossing of the eyes” but can be corrected with glasses. \nMyopia – “Near-sightedness” is when the eyes focus incorrectly\, making distant objects appear\nblurred. It can be treated with glasses. \nAstigmatism- A condition in which the cornea has an abnormal curve causing out-of-focus vision. \nAnisometropia – This condition can adversely affect the development of binocular vision in infants\nand children. The brain will often suppress the vision of the blurrier eye in a condition called Amblyopia or “lazy eye.” \nStrabismus – Eyes are not directed to an object simultaneously. Sometimes the eyes deviate outward\nand sometimes inward. \nThe screening is ideal for children 6 months-6 years old\, but can be performed on older children. Results are immediately available. \n**Parental Permission is required. \nForms will be available at the event or at the front desk of the Beverly Arts Center.
