He moved confidently to the beat. He sang in a clear falsetto. His outfit was electrifyingly androgynous. And his name was Prince. \nFew artists have presented themselves as fully formed as this multi-talented musician from Minneapolis. But Prince knew what to offer and where he wanted to go. Starting from a debut album on which he played all the instruments\, he went on to scale the pop charts\, break down racial barriers\, stir up controversy\, offer his Midas touch to countless other artists\, earn himself millions\, and shake a lot of booty. And though the movie Purple Rain and its hugely successful soundtrack album may feel like the pinnacle of his career\, Prince never stopped making music until his passing in the spring of 2016. \nJoin Great Moments in Vinyl as we pay tribute to Prince with a concert of hits and highlights from throughout his inimitable career…accompanied by stories of his remarkable achievements and exploits.
